Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, has participated in the Emirates Environmental Group’s Can Collection Drive.
As part of its commitment to the environment, the employees of the hotel apartment pledged to deposit a specific quantity of Aluminum Cans from 01st April to 30th June 2019 to help involve the community, educate them on sustainability, instill the values of recycling in the younger generation and achieve the objective of reducing waste to landfills.
The initiative engaging different sectors of the society intertwines EEG’s tree planting initiatives with its waste management campaigns. As part of the campaign, participants achieving the target of depositing the required amount of cans will receive a certificate of participation and a chance to plant a tree under their name by the end of this year.
Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: “We applaud the initiative launched by Emirates Environmental Group and are honored to be participating in such a significant campaign beneficial to our collective future. Our participation in this campaign is one of the ways in helping Dubai achieve the goal of being a sustainable city by providing residents and expats with the highest quality of life with the lowest environmental footprint.”
“Planting trees also has significant health implications as it reduces air pollutants. We aim to achieve the set target of depositing the aluminum cans to have the opportunity to plant a tree under our name to showcase our long-term resilience,” added Moussa.
