On Friday 20th April, KENZO once again threw a Dubai party to be remembered.A selection of top tier press from fashion and lifestyle publications, influencers and bloggers were invited to the exclusive KENZO Spring Summer 2018 event, inspired by the KENZO - La Collection Memento N°2, a collection that revisits the brand's archival elements and reworks them with summer staples. To celebrate the new collection, party goers were immersed in a unique and exciting Asian inspired experience.

Guests arrived at an unexpected location for the late-night party - a stylishly designed office building in the heart of Dubai's Financial District - DIFC. Upon arriving at the quiet lobby, guests were escorted to the 43rd floor where the brand had transformed the industrial space into a physical realization of KENZO's Japanese world. The KENZO experience began as soon as guests passed the elevator door and were invited to remove their shoes to enter a traditional Japanese house for a sake tasting. Key looks from the KENZO - La Collection Memento N°2 were displayed on bamboo sticks around the Japanese house for guests to view and enjoy. The guests were then led to the heart of the event, located on the 45th floor, to dance the night away to Dubai's very own DJ Liutik, Paris based performer Ta-Ra, and New York's DJ Haruka's hip hop and house beats.

Other activities, laid out on the 44th floor included private karaoke rooms, arcade games, a claw machine and a Japanese beer vending machine.  The space was filled to the brim with an extra animated crowd - those who are not afraid to wear their style on their sleeves as an expression of their individuality.

Kenzo Takada launched KENZO Jeans in 1986 by taking eastern principles and fusing them with western, American material. With KENZO - La Collection Memento No2, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon honor the historic collection and modernize it through their own eyes - always with Asian flair. Kimono details are seen throughout the collection with traditional sleeves and wrap belts. We look at raw indigo as well as a samurai red denim. In men's, KENZO looks at two styles: a heritage cut and a carpenter jean. For women's, the brand proposes high-waisted jeans as well as a workwear companion. Taking cues from original labels featuring The Great Wave off Kanagawa as well as the brand's original flying tiger, the denim celebrates the past while maintaining the fusion originally proposed. Vintage KENZO prints such as the bamboo tiger and bamboo stripe appear on reversible Hawaiian shirts, dress, anoraks, and rayon shirts. For accessories, we propose nylon patent knot bags in jade, samurai red or black. Recalling the collection, backpack, bum bags and totes come in durable denim. Braided leather totes, obi belts and sun hats round off the summer silhouette.
