Dunecrest American School celebrated the UAE 48th National Day with a week-long celebration of UAE culture, heritage and Arabic language literacy activities. From an Arabic book fair, visiting authors and motivational speakers to calligraphy workshops, tolerance workshops and a special assembly with cultural performances, the school was alive with the spirit of the UAE.
The celebrations at Dunecrest American School kicked off on November 24th with an Arabic Book Fair that connected the students with Arab authors such as Haya Al Kasem and allowed them to discuss and read about the UAE heritage, and participate in interactive team building activities.
The Ministry of Education also organized a tolerance workshop for Dunecrest students where they discussed how the UAE comprises people from all walks of life encouraging them to live together in a tolerant and peaceful society, a core value of the UAE. Apart from that, the students also took part in interactive calligraphy workshops during Arabic classes, as well as an assembly that included traditional dances, Arabic poems, songs, plays, and much more.
